Just arrived, a lifetime Florida Imperial Crown Coupe. Rarely do you see
good examples of this luxury model. The most opulent 1960's cars with
only high quality interior finishes, chrome & stainless An original
rust & accident free example that we are refreshing to its glory days.
This is a 1968 Imperial Crown Coupe, a rare 2 door version of Chrysler’s top
of the line luxury car. This car was produced to compete with the Cadillac
Eldorado and Coupe Deville as well as the Lincoln Mark series. Only 2,656
Crown Coupes were manufactured in 1968, a very low production number!
This car was purchased brand new by Fred Manning on November 15, 1967
from Fred Drake Chrysler & Plymouth in Pensacola, FL. The original owner’s
manual and warranty card are still with the car. After being meticulously
maintained and driven only 76k miles, it was put into storage in a dry garage
in the mid-80’s. The story goes that a car collector bought the luxury coupe
and many other old and unusual cars, and stored them in various rental
properties in Florida. When he passed, his estate sold his collection. We are
very blessed to have this wonderful Chrysler luxury automobile.
Now it is ready for a new home !

The Imperial went on to its third generation model and shared a unibody platform just as the rest within the Chrysler lineup but retained its unique bodyshell with its overall straight-line, sharp-edged theme. The model changed more on the inside than the out which they did in order to avoid the model looking to similar to the competition, the Lincoln, and more in its own market. A base Imperial model, simply called Imperial, returned for the first time since 1963 and held two trim levels, the Crown and the LaBaron. Although previously the Crown was strictly the convertible, the Crown name was now changed more towards a feature list but the Imperial still kept the convertible option alive and was made back into a four-door pillared sedan since 1960. There were a couple spin off packages like the ''TNT'' edition which promised more power and added the once-standard dual exhaust but the market was moving towards another change soon and the Imperials third generation only lasted two years until the ''fuselage look'' was released in 1969.

Chryslers Masterpiece and flagship Imperial with the newly designed Forward Look first went on sale October 21, 1955. These fully loaded low production cars were for a very exclusive group who wanted the best and was Chryslers way of positioning themselves to go head-to-head with Lincoln and Cadillac.
The Hundred Million Dollar Look as dubbed by Chrysler. This luxury car is loaded with all the creature comforts one has come to expect in todays cars as well as some raw horsepower pumping out of the HEMI Engine. The Chrysler FirePower naturally aspirated V8 is 354ci, 280hp and has 380 lb. ft. of torque. Mated to this is the 2 speed automatic transmission with New Push Button gear selector.
There were only 2,094 Imperials produced this year and this particular car is heavily optioned with Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seats, Factory Air Conditioning, Town & Country AM Radio and ultra rare Hi-Fi Record Player.
This particular example was the recipient of a no expense spared concours quality rotisserie restoration of one of the purist and most original examples available. The car was sold new in Long Beach, California and lived a pampered life in wine country Sonoma, California. The build has been fully documented and early pictures show what amazing condition this Imperial was in upon arrival. The car still retained all of the original paint and our team was the first to take this car apart since leaving the factory. During the process we documented all of the inspection and assembly markings. Finished in Cloud White with a Turquoise roof and Turquoise Eagle fabric with White Leather upholstery just as it was born. The fabric was original new old stock material that was sourced which is in impeccable condition and noticeable by the crisp edges of the Eagle. Every detail was tended to including when finishing the underside of the car. A color scan was performed in addition to working with the Chrysler Museum.
If you want to own the best, this is it.
